Q: Tell us about your practice.
A: I help clients with a broad range of needs in real estate, corporate and estate planning.
Q: You have some experience with the legal system outside of the private practice of law. What perspective has that given you?
A: I've been exposed to the legal system in several ways. First, I've been a client while in-house counsel for a gaming company where we used outside counsel for various matters. Then, while working at a state attorney general's office, we oversaw the faithful implementation of the law and protected our citizens. And, of course, I have advised clients as a private practice attorney. Because I have seen the legal system from various vantage points, I can draw on these experiences to better serve my clients.
Q: Are there synergies between corporate and real estate law?
A: Definitely - we help businesses with all of their legal matters. Invariably, they're going to need help with their office building, plant, or distribution facility.
Q: What’s the most rewarding thing about estate planning?
A: People come to us with all kinds of complex estates. I love helping them put together the right plan to transfer their assets. Making sure we outline all of their wishes in a will or using the best type of trust is vital.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: I'm a big fan of the outdoors. You might run into me on a hiking trail, running in my neighborhood or donning a bee suit overseeing my three hives.
