Q: Tell us about your practice and philosophy.
A: I assist clients with estate planning, wills and trusts, probate administration, corporate, real estate and municipal law. I'm focused on listening to and understanding clients and giving them well-thought-out advice.  My goal is to find efficient solutions for my client’s legal matters.

Q: What sparked your interest in the law?
A: I have an undergraduate degree in accounting.  Early in my career, I worked in the tax division in the Minneapolis office of Deloitte and Touche, one of the larger accounting firms in the country. With that foundation, I transitioned into the practice of law and estate planning, and have very much enjoyed assisting my clients over the past 28 years.

Q: What's hanging in your office?
A: I have a picture on my wall of an older site plan for Dakota Dunes. The firm began working on the project in the early 1990s. It’s been gratifying to see that project nearly fully developed and to have been a part of this project and many others while Siouxland has grown over the past 30 years.

Q: What's different about Crary Huff?
A: I've loved being a part of this firm for 28+ years. If I need to bring in specialized expertise, I can confidently bring in another attorney. On any given day, I'll talk with about a third of my partners about issues our clients face to make sure we’re using the best approach.  I can provide clients with a better outcome by relying on a collaborative approach with my experienced and capable partners.

Q: What are you doing when you're not practicing law?
A: I enjoyed my 33 years in the Air Force Reserve and South Dakota National Guard. During that time, I served in many roles, including the Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer for the State of South Dakota and as an attorney/JAG in the Air Guard.
